JAKARTA – PT Jababeka Morotai as the developer and management of the Morotai Special Economic Zone, and QDJAPAN CO., LTD signed a cooperation agreement related to the construction of a pilot Solar Power Plant (PLTS) with a special solar panel or photovoltaic (PV) device, in the Morotai Special Economic Zone – Morotai Island, North Maluku Province.
The signing of the cooperation agreement between PT Jababeka Morotai and QDJAPAN CO.,LTD. was carried out by Basuri Tjahaja Purnama as President Director of PT Jababeka Morotai with Tadashi Kawamoto as CEO of QDJAPAN CO.,LTD at the Board of Directors Room, 25th floor, Batavia Tower- Central Jakarta on Friday (9/09/2022).
After the signing of this cooperation, the two sides will jointly develop about a pilot solar pv with a special PV in the Morotai SEZ. Where Jababeka Morotai will provide the location, land, take care of all permits for the construction of power plants and the delivery of spare parts and solar panel machines. While QDJAPAN CO., LTD provides the entire manufacturing chain of PV plant construction, from spare parts, solar panel machines to their construction.
For your information, the solar power plant with a special PV device in question is the QD (Quantam Dot) Solar System or CROAS developed by QDJAPAN. This is a solar panel machine that can function for 24 hours. In addition, this rotating solar panel machine can still produce electricity even though there is no sun.
Tadashi Kawamoto as CEO of QDJAPAN CO., LTD admitted that he was happy and welcomed this collaboration. Because this is in line with QDJapan’s mission to reduce carbon emissions and integrate aspects of environmental sustainability, the Morotai SEZ has good business potential. The plan is that the CROAS PV Solar Power Plant project in Morotai is an initial project where in the future it can open a new technology solar panel plant to support renewable energy in Indonesia.

That’s because we see many opportunities and opportunities in this area located on the edge of Indonesia, especially related to the lack of facilities and infrastructure. PV CROAS later, we hope to provide environmental and economic benefit value. We also believe in the capacity and competence of Jababeka Morotai as the developer and manager of the Morotai SEZ,” said Tadashi.
The same thing was also conveyed by Basuri Tjahaja Purnama. He said he was happy with this strategic synergy and believed that the project could be realized quickly and run smoothly. Because, Jababeka Morotai – one of the subsidiaries of Jababeka Group, is ready to meet the needs requested by QD Japan.
“This cooperation is very strategic for PT Jababeka Morotai and the Morotai community in general. If this cooperation goes well, this solar power plant has the potential to encourage the acceleration of the provision of lighting throughout the Morotai SEZ and agricultural systems in Morotai, such as hydroponics, because vegetables on Morotai Island are the result of their own production,” he explained.
Furthermore, Basuri is optimistic that the establishment of the PV CROAS solar power plant in the Morotai SEZ in the long term will make Morotai a green island. Various types of businesses in various fields, such as agriculture, logistics, hospitals and tourist areas, can enjoy green energy with the best quality and competitive prices.
After this signing, the two parties have agreed to visit the Morotai SEZ at the end of September 2022. It aims to see the solar power plant construction site and technical feasibility study and record the need for goods. The plan is that the solar power plant with PV CROAS can already operate in 2023.
